If you are still using Microsoft Windows 7 or Server 2008 we suggest planning to migrate these ASAP. Microsoft scheduled end of life support for these operating systems for Jan. 2020 which believe it or not is coming quickly.
As we experienced with the End of Life for Windows XP and server 2003, we had inventory supply issues where inventory was taking over 90 days, creating compliance issues among the security implications when Microsoft doesn't issue security update etc. We expect to see similar inventory issues as we did with Windows XP having short / no supply of replacement machines in Q4. Annually, December is our busiest time of year as clients are getting capital expenditures in for tax purposes, so our engineering labor to do these projects properly will be booked through the end of the year.
